2.    Eligibility

• You must be between the ages of 18 and 45 to register for the Services.  By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you have the right, authority, and legal capacity to enter into this agreement. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you are in the age group of 18 to 45.
• By registering to use our service, you represent and warrant that you are single or legally divorced. If you are married and not divorced, you may not register to use the Singles Service.
• By registering and using the services of The Matchbook.net, you affirm and declare that:

1. No Indictable Offenses:  You have not been convicted of any indictable offense or are not required to register as a sex offender with any government entity under Canadian law or any other jurisdiction.
2. No Criminal Record: You do not have a criminal record, including but not limited to convictions for any criminal offenses, court orders, or conditions of probation or parole or are not required to register as a sex offender with any government entity under Canadian law or any other jurisdiction that would make you ineligible or unsuitable to participate in this service.
3. Accuracy of Information: The information you provide regarding your criminal history is truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge. Providing false or misleading information is a violation of our terms and may result in immediate termination of your account and potential legal action.
4. Ongoing Obligation: You agree to promptly notify us if any changes to your criminal history occur that would impact your eligibility to use this service.
5. We DO NOT CURRENTLY CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS ON MEMBERS. However, to the extent permissible by applicable law, we reserve the right to conduct any public criminal background check at any time using available public records to confirm your compliance with this subsection. BY AGREEING TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU HEREBY AUTHORIZE ANY SUCH CHECK IF IT IS LEGALLY PERMISSIBLE IN YOUR JURISDICTION.

3.    Account Registration

a. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login details. You must not impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity.
b. To ensure the authenticity and security of our community, ‘thematchbook.net’ requires the following as part of the registration process:

i) Submission Requirements:

You are required to submit your LinkedIn profile or a valid government-issued ID (such as a driver’s license, passport, or national ID) during the registration process. This information is necessary to verify your identity and ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for using our services.

ii) Verification Process:

Upon submission, we will review and verify the provided LinkedIn profile or government ID. The verification process may take up to 24 hours. During this time, your registration will be pending, and you will be notified once the verification is complete.

iii) Privacy and Security:

All information provided during this process will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with applicable privacy laws. Your LinkedIn profile or government ID will only be used for the purpose of identity verification and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, unless required by law.   

iv) Inaccurate or Incomplete Submissions:

If the submitted LinkedIn profile or government ID is found to be inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable, your registration may be delayed or denied. You will be notified of any issues with your submission and provided with instructions on how to rectify them.

v) Registration Approval:

Once your LinkedIn profile or government ID have been successfully verified, you will receive confirmation of your registration and full access to our Site.

vi) Payment Terms:

Any registration fee or service fee paid by the client is non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of the outcome or use of the services provided. Once the payment is made, no refund requests will be entertained.

4.    Use of the Service

The service is provided solely for personal use to seek dating/matrimonial alliances. Users are prohibited from using the site for commercial activities, including advertising, promotion, or solicitation of products or services. You agree not to use the site for any unlawful activities or to post any content that is harmful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

5.    User Conduct
You are responsible for your interactions with other users. We do not conduct criminal background checks on our users and do not verify the authenticity of the profiles. You agree to conduct yourself in a manner that is respectful and courteous. Any harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behaviour will result in the termination of your account.

6.    Content
You are solely responsible for the content you post on the site. 7.    Termination

The parties agree that the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a class or representative proceeding or claims (such as a class action, representative action, consolidated action or private attorney general action) unless both you and ‘thematchbook.net’ specifically agree in writing to do so following initiation of the arbitration. Neither you, nor any other Registered Member of ‘thematchbook.net’ or user of ‘thematchbook.net’ services can be a class representative, class member, or otherwise participate in a class, representative, consolidated or private attorney general proceeding.

11.    Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold ‘thematchbook.net’, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, and other partners and employees, fully indemnified and harmless from any loss, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the Service in violation of this Agreement and/or arising from a breach of these Terms of Use and/or any breach of your representations and warranties set forth above and/or any fraudulent act on your part.

12.    Changes to Terms
